MAG 2026 — Multistakeholder Advisory Group The Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) is the primary body responsible for the strategic, transparent, and inclusive development of the Liberia IGF 2026 programme. The MAG ensures that the Forum remains neutral, non-commercial, and reflective of Liberia’s diverse Internet governance ecosystem. The MAG operates in line with the principles and practices of the global Internet Governance Forum and the NRI Toolkit, serving as a cornerstone of the credibility and legitimacy of the Liberia Internet Governance Forum. Role & Responsibilities of the MAG The MAG 2026 is responsible for the following core functions:
  • Agenda Development: Review and evaluate submissions received through the Call for Input and shape a balanced, policy-relevant programme.
  • Multistakeholder Balance: Ensure fair representation of all stakeholder groups, including government, private sector, civil society, technical community, academia, and youth.
  • Quality Assurance: Safeguard the non-commercial, open, and dialogue-based nature of Liberia IGF sessions.
  • Strategic Guidance: Advise the Secretariat on thematic priorities, session formats, and emerging Internet governance issues relevant to Liberia.
  • Transparency & Accountability: Support the publication of submissions summaries, draft agendas, and key decisions in line with UN IGF NRI standards.

The Secretariat strives for gender balance, youth inclusion, and geographic diversity in the composition of the MAG.   MAG Selection Process The MAG 2026 was constituted through a transparent and consultative process, guided by the principles of the UN IGF NRI Toolkit:
  1. Call for Expressions of Interest / Nominations Open nominations were solicited from across stakeholder groups.
  2. Stakeholder Balance Review The Secretariat reviewed nominations to ensure balanced representation across sectors, gender, and expertise.
  3. Confirmation & Acceptance Selected members formally confirmed their availability and commitment to the IGF principles.
  4. Public Disclosure Final MAG membership, including names and stakeholder groups, is published on the Liberia IGF website.
MAG members serve in an individual capacity and are expected to declare any conflicts of interest.   MAG Decisions & Communiqués In line with transparency best practices:
  • Key MAG decisions related to agenda development will be summarized and published on this page.
  • Where applicable, MAG communiqués or guidance notes will be shared with the community.
  • Individual voting records are not published; decisions are made through consensus wherever possible.
