Liberia Internet Governance Forum Announces Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) for Liberia IGF 2026 Renewal

Monrovia, Liberia —25-01-2026— The Liberia Internet Governance Forum (Liberia IGF) has officially announced the composition of its Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) for the 2026 Liberia Internet Governance Forum. The MAG 2026 brings together a diverse group of experts and practitioners from across Liberia’s Internet governance ecosystem, including government, the private sector, civil society, the technical community, academia, youth, and media. Members have been selected based on their experience, expertise, and commitment to the principles of the Internet Governance Forum.

The establishment of the MAG marks a key milestone in the preparations for Liberia IGF 2026, ensuring that the Forum’s agenda development process remains open, inclusive, transparent, and community-driven, in line with the principles of the global Internet Governance Forum and the UN IGF National and Regional Initiatives (NRI) Toolkit.

Role and Mandate of the Liberia IGF MAG 2026

The primary role of the Liberia IGF MAG is to advise and support the Secretariat in the development of the 2026 programme agenda. In particular, the MAG will:

  • Review and assess inputs received through the open Call for Input
  • Shape a balanced and policy-relevant agenda reflecting national priorities and global Internet governance trends
  • Ensure equitable representation of stakeholder groups, including women, youth, and underrepresented communities
  • Uphold the non-commercial, multistakeholder, and dialogue-based nature of the Forum

MAG members serve in their personal capacity and do not represent their institutions. They are expected to maintain strong links with their respective stakeholder communities and to bring diverse perspectives into the agenda development process .

The Forum will focus on key national and regional Internet governance priorities, including:

  • Governance and stewardship of Liberia’s national digital resources, including the .lr ccTLD
  • Cybersecurity and resilience of digital public services
  • Digital inclusion, youth participation, and women’s leadership in technology
  • Capacity building for future Internet governance leaders

The MAG will play a central role in ensuring that these priorities are addressed through high-quality, inclusive, and outcome-oriented sessions.

In line with best practice:

  • The names of MAG members and their stakeholder affiliations are published on the Liberia IGF website
  • A public summary of Call for Input submissions and agenda development outcomes will be shared
  • The MAG’s work is guided by publicly available Terms of Reference and a Conflict of Interest Policy
